Oacis single sign on rolling out week of August 4, 2008

“Single Sign On” for Oacis is coming this week to the Medical Center and BSD.

What is Single Sign On?

Single Sign On is an application that captures your login and password and remembers it so you don’t have to.  The process will require Oacis users to register their Oacis login and password with the Single Sign On software.  After completing the registration process, the next time you log into Oacis you will be directed into the application without having to sign in.

How will Single Sign On for Oacis be rolled out in the Medical Center and the BSD?

The Single Sign On application will be rolled out to all Medical Center Universal Workstations in stages.  After your machine has received the software, the next time you access Oacis you will be promoted to enroll via a registration form.  Following is the software rollout schedule:

Mon, August 4 – 8:00 PM          5th Floor Comer

Mon, August 4 – 10:30 PM       Remaining Comer

Tue, August 5 – 10:30 PM        Mitchell/Billings

Wed, August 6 – 6:00 PM          DCAM

Thursday, August 7 – 6:30 AM   Citrix Icon change to ALL workstations

Thursday, August 7 – 6:00 PM   Other locations – Darien N-S, RDO’s

Customers on BSD machines will access Oacis going forward through https://webapps.uchospitals.edu (some of you may know this as the Citrix desktop icon) and will be Single Sign On enabled on Thursday, August 7, 2008.

What will change?

Single Sign On requires software on the workstation as well as a change to the Oacis icon:

If you have moved an Oacis icon onto your Universal Workstation desktop as a shortcut, you will need to delete this icon and resave the new icon to your desktop in order to get Single Sign On with Oacis.  This is not necessary for BSD machines.  A new icon will be pushed to all BSD workstations on Thursday, August 7, 2008.

Where can I get more information?

Below is a 3 minute video explaining the registration process.
