CBIS supports Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6 and Apple iPhone devices which can securely connect to the CBIS Exchange (email & calendar) environment. Models are available from most major service providers; please call us at 2-3456 if you would like to consult with us on your needs.

BlackBerry devices are currently supported for those Medical Center Employees who are a direct report to a Vice-President or higher. CBIS will provide connection settings to Medical Center employees who own a Windows Mobile or Apple iPhone device to connect to their UCHAD Microsoft Exchange account. CBIS will not configure these devices for the Medical Center employee.

NOTE:
CBIS can not provide hardware support for any handheld device. If your device is experiencing hardware issues please contact your service provider.
The University has an corporate agreement with Cingular (formerly AT&T) which provides discounts on devices and plans for Employees and Students. For more information please visit their site here <link to nsit att site> or call NSIT at 2-9100.

The Medical Center also has a corporate agreement with Verizon Wireless which provides discounts on devices and plans for Medical Center Employees only. For more information contact Medical Center purchasing at 2-9400.

Quick Tip

1. Decide how you will use your device (phone? email? web access?) Consult with BSDIS before you buy to make sure your device is supported.

2. Select a Windows Mobile device from your preferred carrier (i.e. T-Mobile, AT&T).

3. Select a data plan You will need a data plan to sync your mail & calendar; we recommend the Unlimited GPRS data plan from T-Mobile.

4. When your device arrrives, call the Service Desk to arrange a technician visit to set up your supported device, or check out our FAQ.
